The above named document discloses the fact that Dr Eitel, Secretary to His Excellency the Governor, did, as he alleges, by the authority of His Excellency, make, in formal and circumstantial manner on the 20th September last, most injurious statements affecting the private character, and, as he especially stated, the social position of a gentleman in the Colony, a member of the bar and Queen's Counsel,
